Got Faith?
What do you mean, got faith?
Having faith sounds easy, right? “Of course, I have faith!” we say. But what about when life hits us with the unexpected?
What do you mean my cancer screening came back positive? How is it possible that I’m being let go from my job? Or even worse—my wife says she wants a break from our marriage? In those moments, it’s natural to think, Faith? Are you kidding me?
Yet, the Bible emphasizes that faith is essential for a believer’s relationship with God. “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). This verse reminds us that faith means trusting God even when we can’t see or understand His plan—especially when life doesn’t go as expected.
Throughout Scripture, faith is portrayed as vital for both salvation and spiritual growth. Ephesians 2:8-9 teaches us that we are saved by grace through faith, not by our works. Jesus also highlights the power of faith in Matthew 17:20, saying that even faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains.
Faith Tested and Refined
Here’s the real challenge: faith isn’t just believing when life is good. The Bible encourages perseverance in faith, particularly during tough seasons. James 1:3-4 reminds us that the testing of our faith builds endurance and maturity, transforming us into the men God calls us to be.
Faith becomes real when it’s tested—when we’re faced with trials, uncertainties, and loss. This is where we discover whether our faith is just words or a true trust in God’s promises, even when circumstances seem unclear or impossible.
Strengthening Your Faith
Being a man of faith is one of the hardest things we’ll ever do. Faith sounds easy until we face moments that demand we live out its true meaning.
But here’s the good news: we don’t have to walk this journey alone. We can strengthen our faith through:
Continual prayer
Reading God’s Word
Surrounding ourselves with other believers
These practices will build the endurance we need to face life’s challenges and grow into mature, faithful men of God.
Stay strong, brothers.
Faith isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about trusting the One who does.
Love you men,
