Finding Balance in a Busy World: Prioritizing What Truly Matters

In this fast-paced, busy world, we are on the go from the moment the alarm clock goes off in the morning until our heads hit the pillow at night.

In between, we juggle many responsibilities—work, family, spouse, and trying to fit in an occasional golf game or fishing outing. Most of the time, our days seem chaotic and disorganized. Yet, despite the frenzy of our weeks, we always seem to make time for what is most important to us, right?

So, what should be the most important thing to us?

Well, God tells us it’s Him, and we should put Him first. But how can we possibly do that with our days already jam-packed and crazy?

Here’s the thing: both the Old Testament and the New Testament are very clear about this. Consider these verses:

Proverbs 3:6 - "Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to follow."

Matthew 6:33 - "Seek His kingdom first and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you."

God wants us to be happy, joyful, and have less stressful lives, but we keep doing things backward. We often seek the things of this world first, putting everything ahead of God.

What we need to do is make God our priority, seeking Him and His ways first in our lives. When we do this, everything else will fall into place. The key, of course, is committing to this change.

My challenge to you today is to step back and examine your typical day and week. Ask yourself, where is God in all this? If He’s not there, decide to make a change. In everything you do, seek God first and watch His blessings begin to flow in your life.
