Be Your Husband's Biggest Fan

Colossians 3:12-14
Ladies, it’s so important to speak well of your husband not only in private, but in public. Let people know of your love for him and your respect for him. Through your words, actions, and attitudes, let there be no doubt as to the fact that you are happy to be his wife. Speak well of your husband, to your children and to your family and friends. Your husband will love that he hears from others how you have lifted him up. Paul said in Colossians 3:12-14:“12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity”In writing to the Colossians, Paul gives us the way you can be your husband’s biggest fan. Never criticize him publicly or make him feel awkward, embarrassed or ashamed. I have seen instances where a spouse uses an audience or small group gathering as an occasion to share a frustration about her husband (or vice versa). This does more to deteriorate trust than just about anything. Paul tells us to be holy, which includes having the right motive. Also incorporate being compassionate, kind, humble, gentle, and patient. Possess a spirit of forgiveness and above all show unconditional love.5 Ways to Publicly Uplift your Husband:
- Look for opportunities to speak well to others about your husban
- Appropriately brag about your husband
- Make sure your family knows how much you support your husband
- Never criticize your husband to your children.
- Apologize if you have criticized your husband to others. Let them know you should not have done that.
