Are Your Friends Helping or Hurting Your Faith?
Ever question whether the friends you have are truly your friends?
The Bible is clear about the impact of the company we keep. Proverbs 13:20 says: "Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm." This verse reminds us that spending time with people who seek to honor God leads to growth and wisdom.
If you surround yourself with wise, God-fearing individuals, their influence will help you grow in faith and character. On the other hand, if you associate with those who disregard God's ways and make poor choices, you risk falling into the same behaviors and suffering the consequences.
We see this truth play out in real life: when people surround themselves with loving, caring, and godly friends, they too become stronger in their faith, more loving, and more aligned with God's will. But when they keep company with those who ignore God and live without regard for His plans, they often find themselves on the same destructive path.
If you turn toward God and prioritize your relationship with Him, you may discover that some people you thought were friends were not truly looking out for your best interests. But take heart—God will guide you toward the right people if you seek Him. By spending more time with solid Christian believers, God will surround you with the support you need to grow into the person He has called you to be.
Be encouraged! God has a plan, and He will lead you to the right community of friends.
