Do It!! Don't Just Talk About It!

“'Far be it from me, Lord, to do this!' he said. 'Is it not the blood of men who went at the risk of their lives?'And David would not drink it. Such were the exploits of the three mighty warriors. Benaiah son of Jehoiada, a valiant fighter from Kabzeel, performed great exploits. He struck down Moab’s two mightiest warriors. He also went down into a pit on a snowy day and killed a lion."2 Samuel 23:17,20David’s mighty men did, they didn’t just talk. Whether it’s the mighty warriors breaking through the stronghold of the Philistines to retrieve a drink of water from the well at Jerusalem for David, or Benaiah striking down two mighty warriors and killing a lion, they acted out of what was in David’s best interest. They put their convictions and loyalty into measurable action. They were men of their word. When they said they would do something, David could count on them doing it. Commitment is measured by action, not by what one says.Talk is cheap unless it is backed up by doing. Anyone can talk the talk, but it takes a godly man to walk the walk. I call those who only talk the talk, spiritually, CINOs—Christians In Name Only. In order to impact your world, your actions must consistently match your words.

5 Truths About Doing and Not Just Talking

  1. God is observing what you do to determine your obedience to Him.
  2. It is in the doing of God’s will that brings true joy and happiness (John 13:17).
  3. Your influence on others will come because of what you
  4. When there is talk without action, your testimony and credibility are damaged.
  5. Christians will be judged by what they do or fail to do.

Remember, our testimonies are formed by what we DO! (From the 31 Day Devotional, 31 Leadership Lessons From David’s Mighty Men).
