Reassure Your Wife

Scripture

Matthew 19:6

“So, they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.” Your wife, men, needs the feeling of security that can only come from you. She needs reassurance that you love her, that you are committed to her, and will always be there for her. Regardless of the circumstances, your sacred pledge to her is, “til death do us part.” There are many things in life, including physical and emotional health, which encourages insecurity. Your wife needs to be reassured by the one who loves her most and that needs to happen regularly. When you get married, you become one with your wife, not only physically through the act of marriage but also emotionally and relationally. It is a good thing to reinforce that oneness through your words and affirmations. How do you reassure her? Primarily through your words but also through your actions and attitudes--seeking to discover and meet her needs. God has called and equipped you as her husband to provide for the needs of your wife.

HERE ARE 5 WAYS TO REASSURE YOUR WIFETell her often, “I Love You.” In my opinion, you cannot overuse this phrase with your wife.

  1. Tell her often why you love her. Give her specifics. List the reasons you love her so much. Put some thought into why you love her the way you do.
  2. Through your job, show her that you are committed to meeting her needs and the needs of your family financially. Your wife needs to feel secure financially.
  3. Communicate with her how you are planning for your future (Insurance, Retirement, etc.). Let her know that you are working diligently to plan for the time when you retire. If you haven’t done that, start today.
  4. Listen for those areas in your wife that suggest she is concerned or worried and address those areas. It’s important to her that these things are important to you.

Wingman, remind your wife that if you had to do it all again, you would still choose her and marry her!
