The "Windshield Evangelism" Challenge

18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations,[a] baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:18-20

In the Great Commission, Jesus tells us the what, when, where, why, and who, however, He doesn’t tell us how. This is, because He understands that in each generation it would take new methods to reach people for Him.I want to introduce you to a practice I call “Windshield Evangelism.” For me, one of the hardest places to practice my Christianity is behind the wheel of the car. There are crazy drivers on the road and they all seem to come out while I am driving. I have gotten stressed, angry, frustrated, and upset. I know I shouldn’t, but I confess I do. Yet all that changed when God spoke to my heart about “Windshield Evangelism.” There are days when I pray for 20-40 people. How exciting! What is it? It's praying for everyone walking on the sidewalk or other places like a parking lot. Specifically, it is praying for the person’s salvation. As I have focused on praying for people, I don’t focus on the “crazy drivers.”I challenge you to embrace “Windshield Evangelism” for a month and see if it won’t transform your prayer life and driving. I can’t wait for you to see the results.
