My Heavenly Father, I come before You today praising You for keeping every promise to me in 2020. Thank You for helping me get through this, at times, difficult year. Last year at this time we had no way of knowing all that would be before us with Covid, the rioting, the tumultuous presidential election in addition to issues unique to me. You kept Your Word. You were with me every step of the way. You did exactly what You said You would do. You never left me, never allowed me to be in a place or position without You. Thank You!
Lord, I ask for Your forgiveness for the things I have done that have not been pleasing to You; the things I have said that grieved You; and the things I failed to do but should have done. Forgive me for not seizing every opportunity for You. Show me Lord if there are people I need to approach and seek their forgiveness. Forgive me for assuming things that I had no right to assume. Forgive me for complaining and not being grateful for Your every provision.
As I share my heart God, I confess, it has been a difficult and challenging year for me and for many people. Some are continuing to hurt financially, physically and emotionally. Some are confused about faith and why things happened the way they happened. Lord, help me to reaffirm my conviction that You alone are in control, You are Sovereign and You have a purpose beyond what I can see or understand. Therefore, I trust You; in fact, I run to You and embrace You and Your promise that You will not allow anything into my life that I cannot handle in Your strength.
Lord, forgive me for the opportunities from You that I missed and for the blessings I have left unclaimed. Forgive me Lord for the people I should have talked to and didn’t and the things I should have said ‘Yes” to that I failed to act on.
As a new year is before me, I commit every 365 days of it to You and for Your glory. Lord, please use me as I place my life at Your feet and cry out, “Please use me!” Help me not to focus just on the big events, the big things of life; but the day-by-day ordinary and routine things where I can demonstrate the attitude and actions of Jesus Christ. Please cover 2020 with Your grace, and anoint 2021 as the most significant year I have ever experienced.
In Jesus Name, Amen.
